Yesterday it was announced that so called Evangelical Leaders or as I call them Evangelical Hypocrites met in Dallas and came to a decision to throw support behind Rick Santorum. This on the eve of the SC primary vote.

Let’s examine some of these hypocrites and show why that is what they really are.

Let’s start with Tony Perkins, now at least Mr. Perkins did serve although it’s not quite clear if he ever was in combat. But now Mr. Perkins is the president of the Family Research Council. Let’s look at for instance this group’s view on life. From their own website they state :  ” God is the Author of life, Family Research Council recognizes and respects the inherent dignity of every human life from conception (whether by natural or artificial means) until death. FRC desires to help build a culture of life, holding that all human life is a gift to be treasured. The life of every human being is an intrinsic good, not something whose value is conditional upon its usefulness to others or to the state. .

A very noble statement actually and one that many Americans would probably agree with in general until you started asking questions. Now let’s look at it in a more critical nature.  If every human life is to be respected how can someone that truly believes this then back a candidate who promotes war and who has basically called for a holy war against Muslims. Don’t believe me ? Do a search “Santorum promises to eradicate muslims” or read a transcript of a speech he gave in 2007 .

As I have said before you cannot be for life and then promote war especially un-provoked or pre-emptive war. This is about as hypocritical as it gets. And when you read Santorum’s words he sounds just like the so called radicals we supposedly are trying to stop and criticise for their beliefs.

Next at the meeting we have James Dobson another demagogue who speaks with forked tongue. Mr. Dobson as far as I can find has never served in the military. So he has not a clue not only what military service is like but war itself.  He raised the hackles of one of his listeners of his radio show when he implied if you were against the Iraq war you must be a leftist.  I can tell you for a fact that some of the most conservative and religious people I know that actually live their religious beliefs were against this war from day one.  I distinctly remember when the shock and awe began and many people were watching on TV and cheering one of my closest friends said “Bush is a snake in the grass, and this war will prove to be wrong” How right he was. So that’s hypocrite two that supports a guy that has said if he’s elected President, he’ll bomb Iran.

This is a good article concerning Dobson’s show.

Next we have Don Wildmon of the American Family Association who is a hypocrite many times over with leaders in his organization  American Family Association not even able to respect the first amendment. They complained when Keith Ellison  took his oath on the Koran instead of the bible. Since Ellison is a muslim it makes sense he would pledge an oath to a god he followed rather than one he doesn’t. They also complain of hindus giving before session prayers in congress.  This intolerance to other religions is the same as the radical muslims and against the very foundation that our inalienable rights are recognized.  Of course Mr. Wildmon is supposedly for the sanctity of life but he supports a candidate like Rick Santorum who is a warmonger supreme.

The more I read about who supports Santorum and Gingrich the two warmongers who don’t happen to be a Mormon, the more I realize how accurate my label of Evangelical Hypocrite actually is.

While I have always believed in God and believed Jesus Christ died for my sins, I have always been a tad sceptical of religions and religious sects within a religion. Organized religion has always been fraught with fakes and phoneys in my opinion. It is one of the reasons I rarely attend a church. And one of the reasons that after attending a church I usually stop because of what I see.

In general I would go as far to say that I hold little in agreement with most so called evangelicals who are among the country’s most hypocritical in my opinion.

The funny thing is, you have Ron Paul who is a very religious man and as far as I can see lives his life as such. Yet he also took an oath to follow the Constitution and as such when it comes to items like gay marriages, pornography, drugs and other items in this category, he realizes that constitutionally the government has no jurisdiction to control this and does not let his personal beliefs rule over the oath he took. This for me gives this man the high ground over all those Evangelical Hypocrites that shun his candidacy and support his opponents who may preach what the hypocrites want to hear but don’t even live that way.

For this reason I will continue to be on my own little Christian Island spurning all efforts to recruit me into one of these hypocritical groups who in my case actually end up being anti-evangelicals rather than what they perceive themselves to be.
